ISLAMABAD: Italy’s Ambassador Stefano Pontecorvo along with Executive Vice President-designate ENI, an energy company, Luca Vignati called on Minister for Water and Power Khawaja Muhammad Asif here on Friday.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed matters of mutual interests and cooperation in the field of energy sector. Asif said that Pakistan wanted to further strengthen its relations with Italy. “Pakistan’s economy is progressing and the government had taken business-friendly initiatives to attract foreign investment in energy and infrastructure developments,” he said.
The minister also stressed the need for increasing bilateral trade, business and people to people contacts between the two countries. The Italian ambassador said that his country was enjoying friendly relations with Pakistan at different level.
