KARACHI: Pakistan Peoples Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari urged that people to revolt against Jirga system, on Thursday, which is deciding lives and deaths of the innocent and unarmed people, including women and children. “Brutal murder of Ambreen ordered by a Jirga in Abbottabad is the worst example how the Jirgas are trying to hold the society hostage to create a ruthless and inhuman world,” PPP Chairman stated while condemning the Abbottabad incident.
In a press statement, he reaffirmed the critical need of all tormentors and killers of Ambreen to be brought to justice. He also reminded both the prosecution and judiciary forces to fulfil their responsibilities towards the eradication of the menace of Jirgas and Karo-Kari (honour-killings).
PPP has always played an instrumental part in raising its voice against the honor-killings and Jirgas. Bilawal marked these evil incidents as totally unacceptable, and showed sympathy with Ambreen’s family, assuring them of his support.
